sunday lovely sunday

down by the resevoir, notice the lonely duck in the bottom left
corner. he lives there on his own.

Sunny sunday in Norfolk and we had qiute a few hours off work in the middle of the day... Lots of things could/should have been done but a well deserved nap was first on the list. After a lovely lunch I went off to deliver some stock to one of the roadside caravans. Then I went for a bikeride around the farm and had a look around, which I haven't really had a chance to do before...

Below: This is what the asparagus beds look like when they haven't been cut for about 4 days and the sun is shining. It grows like mad.

Birthday Girl

Strawberry breakfast in bed... Surely not!
on your birthday you can!

Woke up this morning and didnt really have that birthtday feeling. Thought I might be getting old or something(22 old?)... I made Harland bring me breakfast in bed and sing happy birthday anyway... As the day went by I started to get that special feeling in spite of doing a 12 hour working day. Got home and there was a birthday card from mamma, talked to sister, nephew and brother in law, then father. Sweet birthdaygreeting on sisters blog.
And then... Sue, Roger and Anabelle (Employers and their oldest daughter) came by with flowers, card, cake and bubbly. I feel like a real birthday girl now!

it's a start

Me and my new love.

I'm dying to get started with this blog. Working 12 hours a day makes it rather hard tho. Only got home from work with enough time to eat a lush asparagus risotto (admittedly it looked a bit like vomit but tasted like heaven), fiddle on the computer a short while and then realize that it's time to go to bed. Another early start tomorrow and I suspect it'll go on like this for the whole 10 weeks here. There is a shocking amount of asparagus both in the fields and in the chiller. The eastern european "students" arrive tomorrow, all 10 of them. Can't wait, their help is much needed.
