roadtrip!

Here are a but a few of the photos from our amazing 873mile (1405 km) roadtrip around the north of scotland. It was basically five days of driving, laughing and eating crisps.

Sinclair Castle
sign... what sign?
the two cousins that made this trip what it was
some disgusting irn bru action in a playground in Halkirk where we stopped for a picnic and hung our wet stuff out to dry. The poor unexpected residents didn't know what hit them... We spent half a day in Halkirk searching through a cemetery looking for non relatives:) hilarious..

I went snorkeling and got mussels. and very cold

the boys were fishy

I tried fishing but didn't catch anything. Did a good job not looking at the camera though....

the astonishing pass of the cattle, leaving the amazing Apllecross peninsula
and can I just say; this country is beautiful

firs potatoes of the summer, a cheeky, early harvest. Served with lamb, courgette and pepper kebabs, tzatsiki, greek salad, followed by my first ever effort to make a tray baked meringue with whipped cream, strawbs, kiwi fruits and chocolate sauce. scrumtous! unfortunately this was all gobbled up by us and our guests before i had a chance to get snaps... girl in garden

we popped down to Cullen's loch today for some paddling around in Adrian's kayaks and we were practicing eskimo rolling (basically flicking yourself up from "hanging" upside down in the water) it was fun and H reckons I was really brave and confident considering I've never done it before and the lake was really murky :)

here's my first attempt ever at Eskimo rolling

if I would have known how close i was to getting up I would have tried harder but I wasn't meant to roll, just turn upside down and then get out. Harly was well impressed
